Amsterdam had been on my bucket list for years and years, it was one of those places that you see in travel magazines and movies and just stare at in awe hoping that one day you will be there! Well arriving in ams term was everything had hoped it would be from the cutest canals to flower feels and windmills, bright colours everywhere its hard not to be happy.
We took a drive out to a small town where the were only many tourists as you could could on one hand, which I LOVED! It was so quite and peaceful it fully allowed yourself to stop and soak in the beauty of the tree and nature intertwining with the vintage coloured buildings.
Getting to cycle through the tiny streets was so liberating and surreal its crazy to think locals use this transport more than any other device and you can see why, It was so much fun. I love the style of what i would call a cruiser bike being that you can sit upright when you pedal making it easier to incorporate into a daily routine. I saw many locals riding dresses and heals and mean in suits.
The people you meet along the way make all the difference to the outcome of your journey.
The craftsmanship that goes into making each one of these wooden shoes is insane! And yet now days the main uses for them is whist gardening...
Be sure to what wear your going.. now this may seam obvious but in the main city where there al literally thousands of people commuting on bikes going about their day, they will not stop for you to cross they road. You will need to stick to the side of the roads and try to keep the the pedestrian only lanes.
Thats all for this weeks travels, Sadly I will be leaving this beautiful part of the world but I will sure be back to venture deeper into the power fields and more real parts on my return. Be sure to leave a comment letting me know what your favourite part of Amsterdam was or if you will be travelling here in the near future. Have a great week.
