If if you have been to the coastal town of Oia not he island of Santorini in THE BEAUTIFUL GREECE you will know or have heard that the sunsets are crazy and some of the best in the world and along with that comes mayhem like I'm taking thousands of people trying to squeeze and shove between small alleyways to catch a glimpse of the golden glow and last minuet of the light of day. But I have good news !! There is this little gem of a spot tucked away not he top of a hill where you can enjoy peace and quite whilst reminiscing on your day between the gorgeous white walls and blue roofs of Greece.
Where to find it:
This little gem of a spot is located on the hill directly behind the town of Oia. It is the perfect getaway from the crowds, when I found it only one other couple was enjoying the view from he other side of the building leaving the whole place to ourselves to watch the golden glow reflect onto the town on oil below.
The hick is about a 10 minute walk from where we were staying at Oia suites and probably about a 15- 20 min walk from he centre of Oia town itself.
The platform or church I believe (without a blue top) is not he pathway of the walk between Oia and Fira. Note that it is a dirt pebble path on the sides of a cliff face so in some areas be careful.
Not only is it a great way to watch the sunset it is top quality views of the surrounding cliff faces into the ocean and surrounding islands. If you are heading t Oia anytime soon I highly recommend checking this little spot out , maybe over your dinner takeaway and have a little picnic whist your up there. Enjoy!
