+ Travel in a world of adventures
Read my full day to day blog of my first big overseas solo trip.
Day 97 (12th March ) Woke up to head straight for breakfast on the roof top where there is an awesome view and pancakes included in the buffet breakfast which made it just that extra bit more worth it. We head straight for the bus which is waiting outside the hotel and travel for about 2 hours through towns and villages along the coast. We are heading to a city by the name of Hue.
1st stop of the day is at a restaurant on the beach, no one is yet that hungry - so ice cream it is. Drive another hour or so it we stop on the side of the road down a hill so we can pose with the view and soak up nature’s beauty. The day is a bit cloudy and gloomy so everyone is feeling a bit sluggish. A few minutes more in the bus before we arrive in the city of Hue and at our hotel, a bright red building right in the centre of town.
I would describe the town of Hue as being a combination of Ho chi Mhin city with a taste of Hoi an. We all meet again for lunch after checking in and decide on a cute place across the road. I stupidly decide on satay chicken and forget to ask for mild and when it arrives I put the tinniest piece in my mouth and it blows up. My lips are on fire. I am only able to get through half my meal before my whole mouth and taste buds are gone, they are just numb and burning.
Go back to relax for a bit at the hotel and almost fall asleep. Then go on Cyclo bike ride with randoms to this palace where the king had apparently 500 wives. Walk through the buildings within the palace. Then to another temple burial thing for the Budda who buried himself alive by being in deep meditation. Came back to rest the day cloudy makes everyone tired. Go out for dinner and walk streets. Second icecream of the day. Trying to get "snuffie sniffie" bed, eyes are drooping. I have fallen asleep twice while writing this so better go.
