+ Travel in a world of adventures
Read my full day to day blog of my first big overseas solo trip.
Day 62 (6th Feb ) I woke up around 7:30 for a split second then fell back to sleep until 8:00 ish. I decided to fetch my washing so I wouldn't forget it later and then headed for the most important meal of the day .. breakfast ! so yum …buffet breakfast again. Sitting on a deck over the sea line looking at long boats coming in and out. I went back to the room packed my bags and left them in the lobby when checking out.
I was now on a mission to soak up as much sun and beautifulness from this island before having to leave at 1:30pm. Pool side for an hour or two then went out to the beach and cooled off in the water that was not so cool. I found a seaside swig that went over the water which had the little and now big kid inside me screaming with excitement. Time ran away from me and before I knew it we were pulling away in the back of the taxi looking back at the beautiful resort on Koh Tao island. As always I wish I had more time here but I have had the best couple of days here and would definitely love to return in the future as it has captured my heart.
The ferry to take us back to the main land is late by an hour by the time it arrives and once hopping on it soon becomes a nightmare with it being the worst boat ride it have ever taken. It was swaying from side to side and every time I would think we are for sure going to tip over any second. There were people flying across the isles when trying to make it to the bath room in time. People were throwing up everywhere, those who were on the deck were spread out on the floor trying to go with the movement of the boat but just being flung around like a rag doll instead. Honestly it was so bad. I have never gotten sea sick before but on this boat trip that lasted 3 hours it was so bad, I really had to try and stop myself from needing to be sick.
Once we finally touched solid ground our group piled into the mini van to take us to the train station and we were in a total laughing fit talking about what we saw and had just experienced on the boat. So glad that it was over we could now laugh about it.
For dinner we stopped off at a mini Thai restaurant where I ordered a yellow curry and learnt that there is both potato and pineapple in it. We walked across the road to board the last overnight train which I’m on now taking me up to Bangkok where my journey and Thailand tour will sadly end tomorrow afternoon. Good night.
