+ Travel in a world of adventures
Read my full day to day blog of my first big overseas solo trip.
Day 64 (8th Feb ) My first day in Cambodia started with waking up late getting to sleep in till about 8:00am. I was hungry but Verity said she would be 30min before she would be ready so I had a shower and chilled for a bit. We went out to the shops to get food for the week as normally lunch and dinner is made for you but everyone is away for Chinese New Year till Wednesday so I need some food for breakfast and lunch. I am starving by the time we get home on the tuk tuk that Verity called, as he is the local guy that she knows.
I pour myself a bowl of cereal and got to eat it on the big deck outside. The afternoon is free with me spending some time reading in the sun while Verity practises her violin as she is a music teacher for her profession. I meet a girl Rachel who has been teaching here for about 8 months and has just moved into a flat down the road to live here permanently. Dinner is so good, a curry served with potato which apparently is not often used here.
After dinner we head out on the scooters that I told myself I would never get on in Thailand just a few days ago, and now here I am with bare arms speeding down the highway petrified for my life. We go meet some of the students that are playing soccer to join in and try and kick the ball every so often. Laluen and I go back on the scooters. She is so funny, I can’t help but laugh at most things that she says. Now time for bed
