+ Travel in a world of adventures
Read my full day to day blog of my first big overseas solo trip.
Day 57 (1st Feb ) Arriving in (wherever) we climbed off the overnight train. We stopped to have breakfast and recharge our batteries for the bus ride ahead. We go in an old bus that took us 3 hours south to a massive lake that was breathtakingly beautiful. All part of Khao Sok National Park – where tigers still roam.
We got a day pass and a long tail boat ride for about an hour till we reached an island that had water cabins all lined up where people could hire for the night and then there was the floating restaurant that had kayaks and tyre tubes to float in. The water was so warm it was like I was in another world. There were big mountains coming out of the water forming straight drop cliffs and a jumping ledge that we had all to ourselves. Food was provided and as always in the Thai culture it was a feast. With rice and omelette and fish which I didn’t eat. A few more hours went by with me sitting in the tyres floating and swimming around trying to make the most of the water for the hours that we were there.
1hour long boat back to the main land and back in the bus for another hour or two. Our place of accommodation for the night was a resort in a quiet little town in the middle of nowhere. Dinner was at the resort as we wanted to give them some business. Tomorrow I will finally be on one of the Thai islands which I am over the moon about, not sure if I’ll be able to sleep tonight I’m so excited.
