+ Travel in a world of adventures
Read my full day to day blog of my first big overseas solo trip.
Day 13 (19th Dec): I woke up with a swarm of heat hitting me, the humidity was high. And it suddenly came to my realisation of where I was. I had spent the last 4 years writing a letter to my grandparents counting down the years until I saw them. Every time I phoned - grandpa said he had been down to the post box to check if I had sent him a letter. And now I cannot wrap my head around the fact that I am truly here. Now lying in bed in feels as though time has gone so fast - but truly the days were slow getting here.
We went out on the veranda to have breakfast, grandpa eating his famous porridge made from Uncle Toby's oats. I had a quick catch up on the phone to my family in New Zealand and then we headed out to find Beacon Bay market that was nowhere to be found! Out stuck in the queues of traffic, with today being nearly a week till Christmas, everyone is going crazy. Finally made it into to supermarket where we had a wonder around to end at a cafe tucked away at the back of the store. We sat down for something to drink and then were back home again.
Got out the rolls for lunch and snuggled down for an afternoon nap . Later this evening we would have a light dinner and watch a film before bed.
It was great spending quality time with granny and grandpa.
