Day 44 (19th Jan 2016) Today was a hard but awesome day. I started off by waking up at 5:00am to do a workout at Shannon's gym. We did circuit training, so I did one lap of the track running of 250m while Shannon did an exercise like bicep curls and then we would change. It was a good way to get my heart rate up and burn off some of my holiday weight. It felt good to be up early before the sun came out and ready for the day.
Shannon, Nicole and I got into our costumes (bikini/ togs) and put the surfboards into the car ready to have a morning surf.
Unfortunately once we arrived at the beach the water was too choppy and slightly windy at Durban beach front so we decided to come back and layout in the sun where there was no wind as we were back in Westville and have a swim to cool off every now and then.
12noon come around fast and Sam and Jess had come to pick me up for lunch. Sam and Jess were my childhood friends we did everything together and our moms were best friends so we were at each other’s house nearly every day growing up. I loved catching up and hearing about their lives and what had gone on for the last couple of years but the hardest thing was that Jess looks so much like her mother who passed away 4 years ago. Everything she does whether it be her laugh or the way she will say something would sound so much like Patsy, who was like my second mom and it just was hard to sit there and smile when it felt like I was looking at her mom. We went back to their home which looks exactly the same and we talked about our memories together and it was nice to relook at old photos and memories. I said goodbye to Sam and me and Jess went to Pavilion to look for some running shoes as she had left hers in Canada. She dropped me back at the V-familys home. Danielle had cooked a meal for us and that was that.
