+ Travel in a world of adventures
Read my full day to day blog of my first big overseas solo trip.
Day 36 (11th Jan 2016) It is my last morning here at TAWI. It is a slow start but we get the car packed and get going back to the farm. I realise that I have left my phone on the counter back at the shack but we are already a good three hours into the journey so there is no turning back. The journey is long and quiet but therapeutic giving me time to think and reflect on my travels so far.
By this time I am starving with no breakfast and its past 12:00 midday. We arrive back in Port Edward in good time making it in 4 hours, as there was less traffic on the road. We stopped off at David’s (uncles) practice (vet) where we dropped of Ashley and swapped drivers. I flopped once home and made some toast.
Gran and I had a good chat about the family tree and her growing up and my father’s childhood memories. I make us some chocolate mousse for a lunch dessert. The dogs are taken out to the dam for a walk. I cringe when I see all the dogs jump carelessly into the dam as I know the dogs will be on the couch and around me 24/7 when we get back to grans cottage and they have no discipline so will try and put their wet smelly bodies on top of me.
7:30pm comes around and me and gran head up to the main house (David, Julia’s and my cousins) for dinner. Some of the dogs now have flea mixture on them so when I try and push them off me when sitting on the couch filled with their hair that is accumulated into piles I get the flea mix rubbed on me. Ughhh seriously. It is all about patience and tolerance and right now I'm not sure how much I have left in me. I just keep reminding myself that I’m in their house so it’s their way of living. Good night from me and the other 30 + dogs here on the farm.
